Hey y’all! I am the lady behind the lens at Amber Hobbs Photography. Let me start by saying I am honored to have been asked to be featured on the Basic Invite Blog! I am a small town girl, born and raised in Kentucky. My husband and I have been married for 10 years and we have 2 beautiful daughters together. They are very involved in my photography adventures. My daughters are my favorite subjects but far from the easiest. My husband joins me at most weddings as my second shooter.
Engagements and weddings are at the top of my list for most favorite to shoot. I guess this is because I just love to be around people who are in love. My goal is for myself and my clients to thoroughly enjoy the session, be carefree and just have fun!
First I want to share some shots from my most recent engagement session. I really enjoyed this session because I love the Bride-To-Be’s classic style and the session was shot at one of my favorite locations, Rockcastle River Trading Company which is located in Livingston, KY . Within my first 5 minutes of meeting them, I could see that we had great chemistry and that we were going to have fun with the session.
All of my wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session. That gives me the perfect opportunity to spend a little time with the couple and learn more about them and connect with them. I want them to feel comfortable with me so that on their big day, they can be more relaxed and that allows me to capture the true love between them and the magic of the day.
One of my favorite weddings to date is the wedding I am going to share next. Kristina and Jered are just perfection. At their engagement session it was so obvious that what they had was real. Their love for each other is just so tangible. You can’t help but smile and be happy when you are around them.
I love making real connections with my clients and I have a lot of clients who have become great friends of mine. I have also made a lot of new friends in fellow photographers in my area. The relationships I have built just out of this hobby turned passion are something I am forever grateful for!
