Amber Events | Intimate Destination Wedding in Tuscany

I always dream of returning to Italy. I have many fond memories of planning Nicole and Daniel’s wedding in Tuscany. To say I was thrilled when they told me their choice of location is an understatement. The countryside’s rolling green hills and beautifully preserved architecture are simply magical. It’s a perfect getaway for an intimate wedding.

Nicole and I had been friends for years before her and Daniel became engaged. She’s actually a very talented wedding photographer and I had recommended her to many of my clients. Amber Events takes pride in our circle of trusted vendors and Nicole certainly fit the bill. We even spent time together outside of work because we enjoyed each other’s company. As her wedding planner, I hardly felt “at work.” The planning, production, and design were just so relaxed and effortless.

The wedding and reception venue, and home base for the weekend, was Villa Petrolo, the stunning manor house of the Petrolo Winery. Nicole and Daniel had invited their 30 guests to stay with them there and in surrounding farmhouses. The ceremony took place on the front steps of the villa, and included many Jewish customs. The local vendors we chose were bilingual, which made communicating quite easy. And luckily, the villa was already home to some beautifully aged and antiqued furniture, which we naturally incorporated into the design.

Nicole and Daniel were very intentional about their budget. In lieu of a florist, they used ribbon-bound olive branches as bouquets. Nicole herself did the calligraphy for the invitations and envelope addresses. The two even bought decor items they would eventually use in their newly-purchased home. All of the decisions made enhanced the Italian experience for their loved ones. It became clear early on that in a setting like Tuscany, it’s best not to overdo it.
